The Divaz is made of Amalya, Sofia Mountassir and Stacey King.

If the trio shares the love of music and soul, The Divaz also conveys the image of an open-minded and coloured France.
Sofia Mountassir has won Morocco Idol in 2009 and Stacey King, born in Belgium, has lived in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France and now lives in Switzerland, next to Geneva.
Exclusive Interview with The Divaz
Hi Sofia, Stacy & Amalya. Could you introduce yourself in a few words to our readers.
The Divaz was formed following the musical "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" on which we auditioned all three for the role of divas. All three of us took the role, and it immediately hooked between us, humanly, professionally, friendly.
Suddenly, when we felt that the musical was coming to an end, we thought that the adventure could not stop there, and so we founded the trio The Divaz.
What was your motivation about taking part at Destination Eurovision 2019?
We love challenge, we did The Voice and castings of musicals. We present ourselves for many opportunities as singers. But here it is to represent our country at the biggest international singing competition in the world. The answer was obvious, we could not miss this music appointment.
How important is Aretha Franklin for you?
Aretha is "the Queen of Soul", she is one of the greatest singers on the planet. She has been a reference for all the singers we know and has opened the door to all new artists of the soul / RnB / pop movement.
And most importantly, she is a civil rights activist, the woman who fought in her country, who left the spiritual realm in which she was to embark on another circuit. She also challenged the rules of gospel, she embarked on soul in solo career. She took a lot of risks to pursue her dream.
The importance she has as a human/feminist/musical model ... She inspired us all. At one point or another in our lives, we all saw each other in Aretha, hoping to touch the icon she is.
She also knew how to impose her physique in a period where The Supremes and other stereotypes of singers of this kind reigned, and Aretha knew how to shine with her talent.
How would you describe the music identity and the message of “La Voix d’Aretha”?
Never giving up, getting up whatever the trials, getting accepted as we are and imposing our differences in our fight. Continuing the struggles that the elders have led to move things forward.
Even when you think you've lost everything, there's always that little flame in you that allows you to get up. The message of "La Voix d'Aretha", which we wish to convey Saturday night, is that it is always worth fighting for what we believe.
Saturday night, we will fight for our country, for this song, for what we are.
We are going to show you whatwe represent : the differences, the melting pot, the diversity.
The motto of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest will be “Dare To Dream”. As an artist, what is your biggest dream, nowadays?
Our dream, besides being able to represent our country together at the biggest musical contest in the world, is to be able to continue to live from our passion, until the end. We are lucky to live this dream.
Indeed, as Stacy has said, we actually live our dream today, day by day, every morning.
We have an opportunity to express ourselves in this beautiful Song Contest which is Eurovision. We find ourselves down there, both artistically and humanly. And we would be very proud if we can access to this great International Grand Final on May 18th in Tel Aviv.
Many thanks to Amalya, Sofia & Stacy for their availability and their good mood!
